Year of the Yin Wood Sheep

In Chinese tradition, the New Year falls on the second new moon after the winter solstice on February 19, 2015.  As we leave 2014, the year of the fast-paced, freedom-loving, energetic horse behind, our lives are about to down shift to the nurturing female energy of the sheep. The energy for 2015 is one of living in balance - a peaceful and harmonious environment. Artistically inclined and creative, the sheep’s energy is generous, loyal and forgiving.

Join us as we explore how to prepare your homes for the coming energy of the Yin Wood Sheep.

Feng Shui advocates living in harmony with earth’s environment so there is proper balance between the forces of nature. A significant portion of Feng Shui practice is based on interpreting the Five Elements, earth, metal, water, wood and fire. The Chinese believe that the balancing of these five elements and how these interact in the physical environment can create all transformation in one’s life. Based on this belief Feng Shui acknowledges that decorating with the images, symbols, and objects that invoke nature creates a deep sense of balance and serenity in our homes. Join us on July 10th, 2014 at 1pm as we partner with artist John Stenger featuring his abstract expressionism of Landscapes and Flowers. MacKenize-Childs was created in 1983 and is known worldwide for its handcrafted fanciful designs on both home furnishings and tabletop. We like to think of it as tradition with a twist. Our design team’s creativity is fueled by their surroundings at our tranquil farm and studio located in Aurora, NY. It is located in the rural Finger Lakes region overlooking Cayuga Lake. Our artisans still practice time-honored techniques of forming terra cotta clay and applying hand-painted details and decoration. We are sold in luxury retailers in both Europe and the US including Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Harrods of London, but our designer discount program is only available through our own four retail locations including our Palm Beach Boutique.

In this seminar you will be introduced to the core principles of Feng Shui. Subjects include subtle environmental symbolisms that can deeply affect us, such as clutter and safety issues, which can impede the flow of positive Chi (energy) through your home and into your life. We will explore the heart of Feng Shui with fundamental principles such as implementing the Bagua, the effects of Yin & Yang and the powerful Five Element Theory. You will learn to see environments with new eyes that will create an awareness of how everything in our surroundings has a powerful impact on our lives.

Feng Shui advocates living in harmony with earth's environment so there is proper balance between the forces of nature. The Five Elements are considered the main manifestations of Chi - life force or vital energy. According to the ancient Chinese, everything in this world belongs to the energy of one the five elements, specifically earth, water, wood, metal and fire. The Five Feng Shui Elements is one of the core principles of the Feng Shui teachings. A significant portion of Feng Shui practice is based on interpreting how these interact in the physical environment. They are believed to influence every action and activity and is the essence of life changing outcomes, when applied to daily life. Learn the basics of how to analyze elemental imbalances and create a home that supports and nourishes you.

Join me as I take you on a tour of your home with Feng Shui eyes. Starting at the front entrance (the mouth of chi), we will assess the "face of the home" - it's image and character. Once inside the home, we will evaluate the flow of chi, the window between the inside sanctuary and the outside world. On our journey through the home, we will discuss the environmental affirmation for each room in the house and how to transform the home to initiate the change you are seeking and create a supportive and harmonious space. Everyone should bring a picture of one room of their house that represents a "challenge area".

In the practice of Feng Shui, the principle reference symbol of our environment is determined by using a map called a Bagua. Ba means eight, while gua means area, simply put it means eight areas of the home. The eight sections of the Bagua each embody the energy of the eight life aspirations and each area is deeply connected to a different facet of your life. Awareness of the significance of each gua is the first step in learning the wisdom of the Bagua. The Bagua will guide you in making healing enhancements and a life affirming environment. In this powerful seminar, you will discover how to apply the Bagua to your own space and arrange your home to encourage your highest aspirations. This workshop requires that you bring the floor plan of your home.

Feng Shui is all about energy better known as chi, and light is the strongest expression of chi. The lighting in your home, both natural and artificial powerfully influences the quality of chi in your home. Whenever you illuminate an area with light, you are activating the area and infusing it with precious Yang Chi. Working with both Feng Shui energies of Yin and Yang, identifying nourishing energy, creating awareness of the quality of light and its influence on our health, well-being with focused intention. Join us as we explore the philosophy of the Yin Yang energies of illumination, consciously creating and selecting how we are inspired to illuminate in our space.

Small spaces, from a Feng Shui perspective, equate to limitation: by limiting our freedom of movement in one or more directions, cramped spaces hinder our ability to expand into a fuller and more successful life. In relationships, it can hinder growth, or deepening development or progress. For this reason mirrors are often recommended as a remedy to visually and energetically expand a small space.
